Easy way to make Arhar Dal
First, wash a cup of tur dal 2 to 3 times thoroughly and keep it soaked in water for 20 minutes.
Wash the lentils again and after that add two cups of water to the cooker. The water should be so much as compared to the lentils that on dipping the finger, the entire nail gets submerged.
Now put the lentils in the cooker and add turmeric and salt. Many people put garlic and tomatoes along with lentils in the cooker, but do not do this now.
Switch off the gas after two whistles. Keep in mind that you have to cook the dal on low flame only.
Open the cooker when the whistle of the cooker does not come out completely. Now mash the dal with a churn.
For tempering, heat ghee in a pan and add asafoetida and cumin seeds. Then pour this tempering on the dal and cover it. Your Arhar Dal is ready.
Make lentils more delicious in this way
While tempering the lentils, you should use curry leaves. You can also garnish it with green coriander leaves and green chilies. Arhar dal can be fried with onions, garlic and tomatoes. You can also add coriander powder, garam masala and amchur powder to the dal to enhance the taste.
