Battle with Corona! TVS Motors to donate Rs 25 crore to PM-CARES Fund

TVS Motor Company on Monday said that it will donate Rs 25 crore to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund PM-Cares for the fight against the Kovid-19 epidemic. The company said it is making contributions on behalf of TVS Credit Services Limited, Sundaram-Clayton Limited and other group companies. The company said that this contribution is in addition to the activities being carried out through the Srinivasan Services Trust (SST), the CSR arm of the group.

TVS Motor Company Chairman Venu Srinivasan said, “The COVID-19 pandemic marks an unprecedented time in modern history and victory in this battle will require the best of humanity. We appreciate the strong resolve and various actions of the government to fight this.

Maruti Suzuki to make ventilators
Talking about Maruti, the country’s largest car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki India Limited has also entered the war against Corona. The company will now make ventilators in view of the increasing outbreak of Coronavirus Pandemic in India. The central government had requested Maruti Suzuki for this. Apart from ventilators, this company is also preparing to make masks and other protective equipment.

Maruti Suzuki is arranging for this with Agva Healthcare Limited, which is already an approved unit to manufacture ventilators. Together, both the companies will produce ventilators in the country. The company aims to manufacture more than 10,000 ventilators in the next 1 month.
