From the day of bathing, the fast should wear clean and new clothes.

After having a bath, the fast should sleep on the ground till the end of Chhath. The fasting person can sleep by laying a mat or sheet on the ground.

Vengeful and non-vegetarian food is prohibited in the house. Therefore, before this day, such things present at home should be thrown out and the house should be cleaned.

Do not drink alcohol, smoke etc. Avoid doing any kind of bad habits.

Special attention to cleanliness is necessary. It is not considered good for the object of worship to be dirty.

Women must apply vermilion on their forehead. There is a tradition of filling the entire demand from vermilion nose.
