Arhar dal (toor dal) – one and a half cup
Tomatoes finely chopped – 2
Onion finely chopped – 1
Desi Ghee – 5 tsp
Coriander Powder – 1 tsp
Kashmiri red chili powder – 2 tsp
Turmeric – 1/2 tsp
Green chilies finely chopped – 3
Garam Masala – 1 tsp
Whole red chili – 2
Green coriander finely chopped
Mustard – 1 tsp
Cumin – 1 tsp
Asafoetida – 1 pinch
Amchur powder – 1 tsp
Salt – as per taste

How to make Dal Fry
To make Dal Fry, first take Arhar Dal and wash it thoroughly with water once or twice. After this, put the cooker on the gas and put 2 cups of water in it and add lentils. Then half a teaspoon in lentils
Add turmeric and half a teaspoon of salt. Now close the lid of the cooker and turn on the gas. Let the flame of the gas remain high till the first whistle of the cooker comes. After that turn the flame of the gas to medium

When five whistles come in the cooker, then turn off the gas and wait for the pressure of the cooker to end. In the meantime, prepare the tempering for the dal. Take a pan and put ghee in it on medium flame.
heat up. When the ghee becomes hot, add asafoetida, cumin, green chili and mustard seeds and fry them well. After that add chopped onion and fry it. Fry the onion till its color becomes light brown.

During this, keep stirring the onion continuously. When the onion is roasted, add tomato, coriander powder, turmeric, red chilli, mango and garam masala and mix it well. When the masala is roasted well, then add half a cup of water to it and fry for five more minutes. In this way the dal tempering will be ready. Now the tempering which is ready, pour it over the dal and mix it well. If you find the lentils to be thick, then add a little more water to it and put the cooker on the flame and give it a boil.

When the lentils boil, add coriander leaves and mix it well. Now apply tempering on the dal. For this, heat a spoonful of ghee in a small pan and when the ghee becomes hot, turn off the flame and mix red chili powder and red chili powder in it. Pour this tempering over the dal. In this way your restaurant-like dal fry is ready. It can be tasted with roti, paratha or rice.
