International Daughters’ Day 2021: Although every day is the day of daughters, but today is being celebrated especially as International Daughters Day all over the world. This day is celebrated every year on the fourth Sunday of September. This time this day is being celebrated today i.e. on 26th September. The purpose of celebrating this day is to remember the contribution and importance of daughters in the development of society and country. Be it history or present, daughters have always contributed to the development of their family, society, country and humanity, but they did not get the appreciation or encouragement for their work as much as they should have. In such a situation, this day is celebrated to show love, respect and attachment towards them.
this is the importance
Even in the 21st century, there are many such families where there are only people who want a son and people consider the birth of a girl child as a curse and torture. This is the biggest reason for feticide in our country. In such a situation, it is the responsibility of the society to try to change this mindset from the root and help their daughters to become strength, not weakness.
History of Daughters Day
There are many countries around the world where even today there is a deep gulf between boys and girls in the society. Women are considered a burden in comparison to men and are kept away from all kinds of facilities and better opportunities. In such a situation, the United Nations took the initiative to bridge this deep gap. Recognizing the importance of girls and to honor them, the United Nations dedicated a day to daughters in the year 2012. This initiative of the United Nations was welcomed by countries around the world. Since then, every year the fourth Sunday of September is celebrated as Daughters Day. However, there are also many countries where this day is celebrated on different days.
What is the purpose?
The purpose of celebrating this day is to tell the daughters how special they are. Apart from this, this day is also celebrated to raise awareness about daughters and encourage gender equality. Celebrating this day also means to convince the society that they should give equal rights and opportunities to girls like boys.
