Hormonal belly : What do people do to lose their belly fat and weight, from doing heavy exercise, to taking a healthy diet, everything. But sometimes even after doing all this, the result is not visible. Meaning some work so hard, take healthy diet, yet their fat does not reduce from the belly region (near the stomach). According to the news of Indian Express.com, experts consider hormones to be the reason behind this. Actually hormones control various functions of our body, such as metabolism, stress, appetite and sex drive.
Sushruta Mokadam, Senior Consultant and Gynecologist, Motherhood Hospital, Pune, says that due to fluctuating hormone levels or lack of hormones, excess fat on the stomach can be an important reason. It can also be called hormonal belly.
According to Dr. Sushruta, hormone-related conditions like underactive thyroid, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), and menopause are some of the conditions that can make you pack completely around your belly. That is, these problems related to hormones can also be responsible for the fat on your stomach. Hormonal imbalance can also be due to obesity, stress or medications. To reduce belly fat, Dr. Sushruta has given some important pointers that you need to pay attention to.
not feeling satisfied even after eating
If you feel that even after consuming your complete diet, you are still hungry or you are not satisfied with your food, then it means that sex hormones are indirectly affecting those hormones which help in controlling metabolism. Do – estrogen and testosterone. Due to the effect of estrogen on leptin (a protein made from fat cells), low estrogen levels can make you feel hungry even after a meal. In particular, high leptin levels are problematic.
be stressed all the time
According to Dr. Sushruta, every time you are under stress, your adrenal glands release cortisol to help your body react quickly. Cortisol is a type of stress hormone. If you are under stress all the time, your adrenal gland may not even realize that it is producing more cortisol than your body needs. In addition, high levels of cortisol increase heart rate, blood pressure and even blood sugar. Not only this, too much cortisol increases belly fat.
Weight gain in the area around the abdomen
Dr Sushruta says, “Low levels of estrogen hormone can be seen due to excessive exercise, not eating properly or problems with the pituitary gland. When estrogen levels drop dramatically, a person may gain more weight around the abdomen.”
What can be done?
Dr. Sushruta Mokadam says that to avoid this problem, you need to talk to a specialist doctor, who will guide you about this.
