The Ministry of Tourism has developed the area around the Kamakhya Temple keeping in mind the facilities of the pilgrims, so that the devotees reaching the temple will no longer have to worry about many other facilities including parking. The Union Ministry of Tourism has spent 29.99 crores under the Prashad scheme to develop the temple and its surroundings. All the development work has been done here. According to the Ministry of Tourism, due to the temple being in the hill, devotees had trouble in parking their vehicles. Many times the devotees had to park their vehicles far away and go to the temple on foot. Keeping this in mind, multi-level parking has been constructed here. Where 150 vehicles can be parked. Along with this, a senior citizens center has been built for baby care and seniors, where they can relax.

A vendor haat has been built here, where local people can set up shop. Special arrangements have been made for lighting in the temple, so that the temple remains lit from afar. The entire temple complex and surrounding areas have been equipped with CCTVs, so that they can be monitored from the control room. Fire fighting system has been installed. Along with this, a temple waste management system has also been prepared for the flowers and worship material coming out of the temple daily. Apart from this, a ground has been developed for the Ambubachi Mela to be held here.
