Slight decline in passenger vehicle sales in November: SIAM


New Delhi: In the midst of the ongoing slowdown in the auto sector, the sales of passenger vehicles are continuously falling. In the domestic market, sales of vehicles stood at 2,63,773 units, with a marginal decline of 0.84 percent in the month of November. On the other hand, in November 2018, sales of passenger vehicles stood at 2,66,000 units.

According to the data of Society of India Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), an organization of Indian vehicle manufacturing, car sales in the domestic market declined by 10.83 percent to 1,60,306 units in November, as against 1,79,783 units in November 2018. .

Similarly, there was a decline in the sales of motorcycles as well. In the same month, sales of motorcycles stood at 8,93,538 units, down by 14.87 percent from 10,49,651 units in November a year ago. In the month of November itself, the total two-wheeler sales also declined by 14.27 percent to 14,10,939 units from 16,45,783 units in the same month last year.

Similarly, sales of commercial vehicles declined by 14.98 per cent to 61,907 units. Vehicle sales across categories declined by 12.05 per cent to 17,92,415 units during the month from 20,38,007 units in November 2018.

Let us tell you that due to the ongoing slowdown in the auto sector, the sales of four wheelers and two wheelers are continuously decreasing. In the past, many people were also unemployed due to this. However, all the automakers are offering various discounts to increase the sales of vehicles. Still, the sales of vehicles could not be increased very much.
