This is how the day started celebrating
World Mental Health Day was started in the year 1992. This day was first celebrated at the initiative of the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations Richard Hunter and the World Federation for Mental Health. Eugene Brody, the then Secretary-General of the United Nations, advised to celebrate this day in the year 1994 and a theme was also set to celebrate it. Since then every year this day is celebrated with a special theme.
Theme of this day for the year 2021
A theme is determined every year to celebrate World Mental Health Day. WFMH President Dr Ingrid Daniels has announced the theme for World Mental Health Day 2021. This year’s theme has been set. ‘Mental Health in an Unequal World’. All the programs organized on this day will be based on this theme.
